The Water lily is very special to me for two reasons. The first is that my grandmother would call me lily-rose as she saw that I had a strong connection to the water. I always saw the name as a connection to our land but also to her as my middle name is rose after her. The second is that the Water lily traditionally was a valuable food source for my people as each part of a the plant can be eaten.
