Bilgin means ‘fragment’ which is shown in the fragmented pieces in this canvas. I have never lived on my own Country I have visited and felt a deep connection through my grandmother and the knowledge she passed down. There is always this want to be on one’s own soil and to truly for fill that sense of knowing that you are where you belong. Not living on your own Country and leaving one soul feeling like there are fragmented pieces to your own understanding of your own Identity and culture. I wanted to show colour and life as i do not feel sadness but more awakened to the journey ahead and needing to work more on filling in the empty spaces.
